in Water bills
Hi all,
Hope you can help me with this as this is the first time I've had to pay bills with previously living at my parents.
All in all everything has gone smoothly apart from my water bill!
United Utilities is my supplier and I've finally got them to set up a new customer account. I went online and selected to pay by monthly direct direct.
As I'm on a water meter they said it could be up to six months before I receive my first bill.
I've emailed them asking these questions twice but have had no answer as of yet.
Can anybody tell me how I will be charged? Is it like my electricity where I pay a sum monthly and then this is used against the amount of water used?
Or will I get my bill in six months and this be paid off in monthly instalments?
Also how is my waste water calculated? I selected two people living in the house so is it this by the amount of water I use.
Many thanks

They will normally estimate the water consumption for two people and base the bills on that estimate.
On average 2 people will use 120 cubic metres a year(60 each) so you can look up water and sewerage charges using that figure to get an idea.
They often collect the annual amount in less than 12 monthly payments e.g 10 or 11.0 -
Thanks!
