Can i buy a password protectable USB flash/pen drive anywhere? So i dont have to load a programme onto it to protect it? Not after super security, just a simple password or lock to stop it being used by others

For what you want to do, this is quite a popular tool:

Some USB Flash Drives (e.g. Cruzer, I think) come with some rudimentary password software on them.0

Or there's always this sort of thing:

Don't lose it, or try the truecrypt post earlier .... or pay extra for hardware encryption. At the end of the day it is crackable(EVENTUALLY) if someone thinks if they should spend the time to decrypt and crack it. I personally would stick a label stating "My Bank passwords and my !!!!!!" on the front and hope that some cracker spends hours to waste working time how to it get find the aforementionend.4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . That's only any good if the host PC has Truecrypt installed on it and you have admin rights on the host PC. You can't install Truecrypt on a USB stick.
You want something like USB Secure from newsoftwares.net. Apparently highly rated by those that use it but I can't comment on it personally as I use a pocket USB HDD which came with EasyLock already installed (does same job). USB Secure is £19.95 fyi.0 -
buy an encrypted usb.. for a password type thing that you want, you'd have to install some type of software onto it.0
-
Yes you can, but you do still need admin rights. You can't install Truecrypt on a USB stick.

Yep, it works and has done for years.0 -
Yes you are right, I'd forgotten about the 'traveler mode'. Still pretty useless if you use PCs other than your own though.
