Just got it. Boy is it slow. Seems like a waste of money nearly as slow as my old dial up and takes ages to download any files. Beginning to think I have wasted my money/:mad:

The ones I've seen have been as quick as any other adsl broadband - may be worth checking with TalkTalk technical help - the installation one, the number should be on your advice letter. They were very quick & very helpful when I had to contact them on behalf of an aged neighbour.0

As Tallymanjohn said try contacting them to see if they can help.
My experiences with their Technical Support have been very poor, so hopefully you'll fare better.
Try this Speed Test for a fairly accurate indication of what speeds you're actually getting.
The other thing is to make sure you have fully virus and spyware scanned your PC, as your slow speeds could be due to a virus or malware taking up bandwidth.0 -
ADSL Max takes a good few days to reach its highest speed on your line and settle down into its final speed.0

hi have you not read the forums ,I was with talktalk for 12 months and for the last 6 they stopped all file sharing programs from downloading ,tryed everything and nothing worked ,still having problems getting away from them even though I was disconnected end of may so if you have signed up to their broadband you are stuck with them for 18 months ,sorry to be the bearer of bad new but this is the worst company I have ever had any dealing with0

You have, get out of the contract before cooling off period expires and get on AOL or your old i.s.p.
Their broadband service is not free anyway, you have to sign up for other services to get it and it probably costs you more now and you got a nasty service.0 -

At the risk of sending the thread off-topic, I've read more complaints from people regretting that they ever went with AOL than I have about every other ISP put together...0 -
Ha they are called 'those that jump on the band waggon' usually never used AOL.NickMidgley wrote:At the risk of sending the thread off-topic, I've read more complaints from people regretting that they ever went with AOL than I have about every other ISP put together...
I get 8mbits speed, 5-8 currently depending on dl server, unlimited bandwidth, no unfair usage policy and I negociated my last contract to favour my budget.
I have been with them 6 years and have only had 1 problem and that was downtime for 2 days.0 -

do NOT get aol.0 -
Well as I have said, 8mbit dl speeds, only 1 downtime problem, unlimited bandwidth, no boring letters or emails saying I am bypassing the usage policy, which they don't have and thats in 6 years and 1 month.
I recommend AOL, my experience of them is first class.
If you don't like them don't use them, I doubt you have used them.0 -
