    Thanks sque & jodles :)

Have just OP-ed £110 from cashback, a bit from paypal (ebay sales) and some from selling some clothes via C4C - a case of every little helps! It is amazing to think that this time next month I'll only have the chimney left to colour in on my excel house!! :D:D :T

However - I need to buy a new washer dryer NOW. As I've said before, it's on its last legs. Having cleared yet another error message from it this morning (an almost daily occurrence) it was then incredibly mechanically noisy during the spin (a fairly regular occurrence) and the washing smelt a bit like overheated engine oil (an occasional occurrence) when I took it out - BUT there was the added first- time- ever occurrence of smoke coming out wispily over the top of the machine........:eek: I turned it off at the fused spur and left the 'cupboard' door and machine door open - and didn't leave the house for a couple of hours, just to make sure!!! It's a SMEG and is 8.5 years old - and is probably used for about 10-12 loads a week - so it's well used. We've had a few repairs on it over the years but I think it's now uneconomical to repair it. I have my eye on either a NEFF or a Siemens one as a replacement - shall make a decision later and order it from the best price online (may possibly be John Lewis, as they have a trade in offer going on :D) I am not expecting delivery until early next week, though - which may necessitate a trip to a launderette:eek: - I haven't visited one of those since I was at college in Bournemouth many moons ago!! I have enough clean school uniform to get me (well, the kids!) through the rest of the week though :T

In other news, spent a whopping £68 at the garden centre on Sunday (after spending about £15 on plants at Aldi on Sat) Thankfully £51 was covered by vouchers (Xmas pressies and reward vouchers) I plan for a colourful, pretty garden this year - but have bought some perennials, so the money spent will last :D Plans for all the gardening are a little on hold, though, as I slipped whilst coming down the stairs on Sunday evening and landed heavily. I have a fist sized purple bruise on my b*m, along with several smaller ones, bruises on the other hip, a bruised elbow/ arm, a very sore foot (caught and broke a spindle before landing heavily against the newel post) and my lower back is now very stiff and achy. OH has a job of replacing the spindle some time! (a fiddly job - ooops)

Also bought some aldi running 3/4s and top on Sat. Not that I can use them at the mo! :p

Sounds like washing machine on way to great scrapyard in the sky for sure now :)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Definitely - I don't see it in the decluttering list tho :D

Seriously - for someone who cba, that list is great! The fall sounds really painful tho :( I hope you've checked the bruises are "just" bruises? Take care...

Oh dear. Hope you mend quickly :(

    Bad luck about the washer/dryer.

Mine continues to limp on. It's 9 years old, and I know if won't last for ever, but I hope it'll carry on for a little whole longer.

Even though the de-cluttering has slowed down, things are still leaving your house, which is excellent. As long as a few bits leave my house each week, I'm content

Hope your bruises are healing - a fall like that shakes you up

Thanks all - I *still* have the remains of a particularly large bruise on my rear!! Other than that I am a bit achier than usual - has set off a few of my back niggles from a couple of car accidents - but it's easing. Main issue has been that OH and I have not been out walking much since my fall - too achy by evening to manage far. But will re-start it with some slower, shorter ones this week :)

New washer-dryer arrived on Thurs - soooooooo quiet!!! Bigger drum - and a v effective dryer - super fluffy towels :D:D

Money news? - more ebay sales made :D - and lots of money spent on new washer dryer lol Am managing to keep grocery spends to £100 or less pw for the 6 of us - with a family of confirmed meat eaters I'm very pleased with that. One of my friends spends 50% more than that on a family of 3 - and figured I spend proportionately the same as her - doesn't believe that I spend considerably less!!

Not spending on much else here - mainly garden-y things at the mo. House still seems to have masses of stuff in it though!! If the weather improves this weekend one of our plans is to tackle the garage - tidy and clear out. We had planned to paint the back fence but it's tooooo cold!

Off to catch up on the rest of you now before watching Casualty with OH and a box of maltesers - so rock and roll for a Sat night!!! :)
