That is great news re the caravan, and I like the rationale for going back to over paying the BTL. We are so fortunate with our other house - Occupied by DS and two other young men - one is WFH and the other is furloughed, although might be returning from Monday (he needs to, smallest room, biggest of the three, he is climbing the walls). DS owns his share so just contributes to the bills we pay. No mortgage as our garden paid for the houseSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far

Just catching up, agree thats great news on the caravan sale. And all the gardening sounds fund and productive.
Agree food shopping in our house is off the scale, but we are all eating well, no waste and supporting local businesses (somme of whom deliver) in the main. Reminds me, do want another fish box as the freezer is getting a little low and we have little green veg or fruit. Must get some today. Afternoon tea to celebrate VE Day sounds good. Pity no street parties, I do love a neighbours get together...thats my mum's memory of the this, the street parties in the weeks/months after (she'd have been 6) - my dad remembers that they didnt have one, too wide and busy a street6 -
Great news selling the caravan Greent 🙂MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁4

Another week has in pretty much the same vein - although DS2 is struggling with online learning, though, and has fallen behind in several subjects - we have had to instigate a plan for catch up with school..... Aside from that it's business as usual (or not!) DH has had a virtual 'night out' with work colleagues tonight - a couple of beers over Zoom with not too much work chat (hopefully)
Grr - just lost 2 paragraphs - not paying enough attention whilst also watching tv! Will leave it here for tonight instead

Not much to report - it's that quiet time of the month where it's now really just a case of waiting for paydays to arrive..... pretty much same old, same old otherwise - although today was DS3's 11th bday and my mum's 70th. DS3 had the day off schoolwork as a result and spent the whole day playing instead
He has an inset day on June 1st. School are writing out to us tomorrow with details of how the return on the 2nd/ onwards is happening - will be interesting to see what they say. He also has his Y6 residential trip the following week - I really can't see that happening, but they haven't yet said anything about that......
Still gradually getting rid of a few things here and there - nothing big, but it all helpsThe kids have sold some things via my fbook to my friends for their (younger) children, which makes it easier - they are local so can walk here as part of exercise, put money through letterbox/ friends paypal it (goes to kids) and I can leave the item(s) outside under cover, out of sight and they can collect - - and no lockdown rules are broken
I bought some clippers last week - have cut DH's and DS2 and DS3's hair. Started DS1's today and the charge went (after I'd done most of the back, thankfully) Trouble is, his hair is very, very long on top (and dyed blue...) and hasn't been cut since late Dec/ early Jan (and not coloured since Oct) so I'm stuck how to deal with that - more yootoob videos required to see if I can get some sort of style...… at 20, DS1 will not be happy if I mess it up...…..

As the woman who did her own with the number 7 attachment on DH's clippers I am probably not the best person to advise but I do remember being shown how to roll the clipper blade out on an upward cut (so the heel of the device gets closer to the head) in order to graduate the length of the cut as you go from short to longer - the same principle applies with scissors (do you have some hairdressing scissors?) and the big trick (says she, the novice) as I understand it is to cut between two fingers but closer to the nails than the knuckles. Snipping the webbing equivalent between your fingers is a rookie mistake and stings like bu**ery. Maybe just recharge asap...

Hope you're all good at yours greent, you're definitely very brave about the young adult hair cuts. We have just done 'lockdown fringes' via a £15 pair of scissors from Amazon. I swore vengeance on anyone who ever used them in the kitchen for food prep or god forbid for cutting paper..so far so good so my spells are working....6
