My DH on the other hand was smuggled out of Uganda under a blanket,  in 1975,  as his parents didn't bother getting the right papers for him when he was born out there, and he does not have any kind of PTSD or feel the need to smirk at highly inappropriate times.  Priti is as Priti does. 

I guess I was bending over trying to be fair   I was also thinking of my mum's trauma at being caught in the Liverpool Blitz during the war.  She used to talk all the time to me, once I was about seven years old, about listening to the bombs in the Andersen shelter at the bottom of the garden, or the time the doors in the house blew out, or running to fetch her little brother when shrapnel was falling.  The result was that by the time I was ten or so, I wasn't sure if we were still at war with Germany, and the sound of a practice fire alarm at school made my knees go weak - she frightened the life out of me, basically, and I could never express it.   But yes, you're right, Priti is as Priti does.

We don't have any Bramleys this year either Greent.  I thought it was down to the hard pruning we had to give the tree this spring but maybe it's the conditions this year too.  The apple tree in our hedgerow is absolutely laden with fruit and we didn't get a single bite from it last year.  Our old plum tree has honey fungus 🙁 but does seem to have a lot of fruit developing.  I'm hoping I've avoided Plum Moth but may have put the second trap out a bit late.  Time will tell.

The first courgettes on a plant are always a bit temperamental I've found.  You may get better as they continue to fruit.  And then there will probably be no stopping them 😮  I'm expecting to be posting many courgette recipes over the coming weeks 😆

DS1's relationship breakdown takes me back to those angst ridden days when everything was painful!  I hope he manages to sort his accommodation without too much interaction with his ex friend and ex girlfriend.  One day he will look back at this period and smile, wondering what he was so upset about.

very jealous of your cherry harvest, we had a grand total of 22 this year. We had a late frost so think that was the reason for such a small crop.

It was the largest crop we've had so far, CR - the first year (4 or 5 years ago) we had 2 - and it's been growing since - but this year they plumped up wonderfully thanks to some timely rain and then ripened beautifully thanks to more sun - perfick!

Onto some money bits for June - we made a capital reduction on the BTL of a shade under £1170 - a good month We also had the usual savings into EF (called slush fund at the greent-house), 3 monthly savers and my S&S ISA. Florida fund also had a bit added to it - we figure we'll still go eventually (maybe several years down the line at this rate!!) so the funds have been set aside and the budget increased! I bought some PSB with £7k of it - keeps it separate and you never know! Spent out on new dishwasher/ installation, a new f1tb1t for me (but I bought a cheaper one than I originally planned and used vouchers bought through DH's work at a discount (as I did for the DW) I also paid the remaining £500 of my tax for 2019/20. Other than that it was the usual bills and food and £10 towards teachers presents - and a small spend of £12 at M@talan for fake c0nverse and new flipflops for DS3. I think July will be spendier, though! - we have new school uniforms, the new cupboard door for the WM (although insce gave us the money for that - it's just sat in slush fund), possibly new fence (if not will be in Aug - panels have had to be ordered), DH wants a new fitness tracker watch (c £300 - mine was £70!) - and that's just off the top of my head - I'm sure there's something I've forgotten (and there's dentist appts to pay for) Ah well!

We found a cherry tree in our garden this year, it mustn't have fruited the last 2 years. They looked bright but one or 2 eaten. We left them for the birds. Our 2 year old plum tree has dozens of green plums that haven't ripened. I hoping next year will be better.

I read PSB as purple sprouting broccoli and thought no way have they spent 7k on it, its  not that expensive to grow. Then I engaged my brain and realised you were on about something else. So what is psb?

  the only person in our house who likes the purple stuff is DH - but not even he could eat that much!

Premium Savings Bonds , CR - so the money is safely tucked away and out of sight when I look at the bank accounts and int rates are low on savings anyway, so even 1 x £25 win and I'd be 'up' and there's always the chance of something more  

Not much happening here money wise - rent is in and has been paid to BTL - Will try and add another payment later in the month. Spends are still mainly food - although Amaz0n has been enlisted this week to buy DD a book on NVivo for her dissertation (damn not being able to get books from uni libraries!), a new super soaker water gun thing for DS3's last day at primary next week (all of ours had broken and were binned ages ago) and some exercise resistance bands for me. Today sees the first of 4 barber trips over the next 5 days though - I think I can get away with doing DS2 and DS3's hair with the clippers in between cuts so as to not go as often for them but they need a proper style again now - and DH and DS1 (who last went in late Dec/ early Jan!) definitely do!

Wet here as we get a little bit of storm Edouard for the next few days - much needed by the garden after the recent winds have kept it dry and it's good to have the water butt and other containers refilled  

Right - off to do some exercise before my body wakes up too much and complains......
