I see your point of view thatgirlsam, but it doesn't sound as if he OP has been offered first refusal of the Monday am, it's more of a "you will have to fit in with my plans" as the CM is now attending a club/group on the Monday and if op wants her child looked after, she has to drop LO off at CM before she goes out for this group at 11am. That's more of a take it or have nothing, not a take it or leave it, which first refusal would be.

but she does have first refusal as she could say no !

if she doesn't want the hours then that leaves the CM able to give them to another child

But if she says no she loses her Monday place altogether!

I do SWYM but..................it's not fair, not very moral, and a bit lazy of her. I know loads of people who use childminders and I know a few childminders, and splitting their mindees into mornings and afternoons isn't that unusual. She wants to go to the Monday club and this would make her life easier. She is providing a service, and her service should be accessible and user friendly, but it's not.

This is why I never used a CM and chose nursery instead, clear guidelines and business practise which was provided professionally. My kids were loved by their nursery carers, and they had a great time there. I know most CMs provide a fabulous service, but the personal service is open to abuse from both sides.

Hi havent read all the replies so apologies if i repeat some of them!

I am a childminder and tbh find what she is doing a little out of order..i think some of my parents may tell me where to stick it if i did that?!

There is a lot of chnage and like you said a lot of extra money which seems some of it unjustified. I personally include everything in my fees including food, days out etc the only thing i dont provide is specialist food if it is expensive and nappies...other than that everything comes out of my wages for the children. As for days changing etc it is just the way of our job.

I hope you get it resloved with her x
