Windows update seems to have finished automatic updates as the yellow shield hasn't appeared since this morning, and I believe all my drivers are up to date having taken them from HP website.

well these wont be automatic updates. Go to the Window update website and get them manually...0

Sorted but not sure how. Think I was missing HD Bus driver but I have sound again.
