I'm on my second, when the first broke (of over use) I immediately went out and bought another!!! I love it.

I find that it is the lid that breaks. If you buy it at Costco and it breaks, just take it back and they refund, then go and buy another one!
  • If you want low fat chips then do what I do. Par boil them, then spray them with 1 cal oil and cook them in the oven on a wire chip rack. Lovely.

These were prone to catching fire apparently - don't know if they have cured the fault but that is enough to put me off anyway.

I am in too minds about this. I reserved one on Friday, but have not picked it up as I cannot make up my mind. The AV Forum is interesting, lots of people saying they break after a peirod of time. Some posts are quite recent.

I'm still not sure..... :( And I really want one.

We've had one of these for about 14 months ago (from Costco) we use it 3/4 times per week ,,, we use one "measure" of olive oil and the chips taste yummy :D

Just get it and if it gets a fault ,take it back ,its Argos ,best place in the world for returns!!
I paid £140 for mine knowing full well about the problems and even thought the chips ,tatties taste roasted rather than fried ,I still reckon its worth a punt at £100 ! ;)
  • I love mine, have had no problems cooking potatoe wedges for 4 adults in one go, aprox 30-40 mins. I use it to cook "oven" chips with no oil. Tesco Value ones and it takes 25 mins to cook and they are lovely. Has to be the oven ones as they are coated.
We have also done some of the receipes. I wouldn't be without it!
Aunt Bessies roast potatoes and tescos finest in goose fat at Christmas, yummy.
I bought mine from Costco nearly 3 years ago, used 3 times a week minimum and still going strong. My best buy ever!!
:rotfl: l love this site!! :rotfl:

If they are so tempremental is it worth taking the £26.99 Argos insurance for 3 years?
I don't normally opt for these but if it's a £175 device thats prone to breakages I would be tempted.

Not on your nelly ,total rip off ,if it develops a fault you are entitled to a replacement ,refund or repair within a reasonable time frame ,you dont need to pay extra for that right ,its your right for free!!
