I have one as well and can't recommend them enough.
Threw out chip pan because this makes much nicer chips.
I tried them at the Vitality show last week where Tefal had a stand and the chips were pasty and limp.
It wouldn't have made me buy one.
I told the guy he needs to learn how to cook in the 'Actifry' before trying to promote it!
I've cooked other things in it, but by far the chips are best, parsnip, sweet potato and squash chips come out lovely.
Very good if you are on WW or SW diets, or just cutting down on fat.
It does 1kg of chips a time and mine cook in about 30 to 40mins.
    Enough for 2 people easily.

I would like one of these but I'm waiting to see what they say about them on The Gadget Show next week.

I too have one of these, and they are wonderful, cook food really nicely, although two weeks ago, half way through cooking some chips, mine went BANG and sparks came out of it, very scary.. after investigating further, i found a whole forum on people posting about the same thing happening to theirs, apparently Tefal have bought out a new actifry with a black base instead of white that is apparently 'completely safe' i really don't know how or why they are still selling the white ones as there is obviously a fault there somewhere..

These are brilliant and make delicious chips. I usually peel, rinse and thoroughly dry 750 - 800 grams of spuds and it takes 35 mins. I bought one in the Argos sale after Christmas for £109.99. I read the BBC 'Watchdog' report on them online and the problem with them affected very few items (0.4 % or 1 in 250 ) and has now been rectified. I have a white base one but if it goes bang, I'll just take it back and get a new one
Still virtually alcohol free since 4/1/15. (10 Xmas/ New Year/Birthday drinks)

They are really good. Frozen oven chips in 20-25 mins., roast potatoes in 40-45 mins. I was dubious at first about the length of time for the chips but it's brilliant - switch it on, put timer on for 5 mins less then cooking time (just to check them) then get on and do something else! Wouldn't be without ours now. I don't add any oil for chips and a small quantity for roast potates. I also add a couple of onions to the roast potaties as my family like the extra taste it gives them! Sweet and sour chicken also cooks well in it.

    I agree, I wouldnt buy another one for a £1 !
The cool wall is far from cool.

It takes an hour to cook enough wedges for a family as only a small amount can go in each time.

It breaks up a lot of things whilst turning them.

    Total waste of worktop space.
