All-in-one Printer using continuous ink?

That's a very good idea and would have been ideal when I was homeschooling my kids - however I really don't use that much ink now so even £5.99 a month is a lot more than I'm paying now.
I just didn't want to buy a new printer, then find it costs a fortune for ink.
I've just checked out the Epsom all-in-ones and Tesco are doing the SX115 for sub £40 - the compatible inks are really cheap as well. I'm just deciding now whether to splash out a bit more for some bells and whistles - I don't currently have them but they look like good fun
Thanks again for your time!
Just had a look and argos are doing it for £34.95, compatible cartridges are cheap on ebay for £3 for a full set.Old Faithful we roam the range together,
Old Faithful in any kind of weather,
When the round up days are over,
And the Boulevard’s white with clover,
For you old faithful pal of mine.0 -
You've gone all numerically dyslexic on us, custardy! m5rcc was suggesting an MP640, not a 460. I must say that the print and scan quality on the Canon MP6xx series is top notch, and the CD print option is handy too. Original Canon ink carts are ridiculously expensive, but compatibles can be had for around £2 each.
OP: whatever you decide on, it would be worth checking before buying whether the ink cartridges are "chipped" and, if so, whether you can get "chipped" compatibles, as it can sometimes take a while after a new type of cart is introduced before fully compatible copies become available (which is why the printer makers are forever changing them, of course...).
Yes thanks - good point - I'm aware of that one so thanks for reminding me

Do your kids school demand colour output ?? Then let the school print them out with my tax monies. Re school the children to print B/W or colour them in by hand.
Save your money, keep it in your pocket. Photos printed when you go shopping.
99.9% is tossed in the bin anyway.
Total - I wouldn't dream of using your hard-earned taxes to print off colour copies of stuff

Hi - just checked - this price has changed now - as has the Tesco one! However, Ebay are still doing one for £35 inc. delivery.

one of the weekly computer magazines has an article on fitting a continous ink system to an Epson. You'll have to be nippy though as it went on sale last Thursday0

Hi Karen (and anyone else who can advise), I am in the same position as you were last March. I want an all-in-one printer that is compatible with a ciss system. I am hoping to get the printer for less than £100 (but might pay more for the right printer) and then the inks after that. What did you end up buying and were you happy with it ?
Anyone else suggest a system that they know works with a CISS system and would recommend it.
Thanks in advance.

Have you considered refillable cartridges?
