Friday 26th March - What small DFW things have you done today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :D

Goooood morning lovely peoplesmiliewave.gifsmiliewave.gif
signwoot.gif...it's Friday!!!
Tired again....didn't sleep very well...boooooo. DD1 and I went to see DD2's dance show - it was great, huge place, about 1000people watching and the dancers were fab, very proud of her!!

Anyway, off to work - will see how long I can last - I left a bit earier yesterday (11.40!), as I felt so ropey...at least if I go in they can see if I'm not good.

Ok, here's my list:
  • check banking
  • daily scratch
  • packed lunches for girls
  • washing off the airer and upstairs
  • meal from plan tonight - chicken curryHShungry.gif
  • chicken is out of freezer defrosting now
  • read papers online#
  • LSD - just need yogurt and poppadums
  • wait in for the trampoline to arrive this afternoon - fingers crossed it stays dry tomorrow so we can put it up!
  • do my nails - french manicure, takes most of the evening but it'll last a week!
  • investigate selling my mobile - got my old one fixed, and I prefer it
  • evening in front of tv - EastEnders and Masterchef....sounds good to me!chartv.gif
Righty ho, that's all from me...best get my face onhugelaugh.gif

    Hi everyone

    Happy Friday!!

Loving the smilies today MillyS - those cats and dogs are hilarious. :)

Nice to see some more new posters - stick with this thread. I can't believe how much it's helped me and I only started posting a couple of months ago. As everyone's else has said it really does help get and keep you focussed. Also, even if you do have a bad day I bet you'll still be able to write a list of the good things you've done - so even if you do spend £100 shopping you'll still be reminded of the little steps you've taken (switched off a lightbulb when you're not in a room, not eaten out...) and you'll start to see things more positively again. I'm sure a while ago I'd wallow in how much I put on my credit card for days and by then I'd probably have put more on it!!

My Friday list looks like this:
    • PAD to cc#3
    • Check banking
    • Do my Official April Budget
    • Breakfast and lunch from home (no snacking at work!)
    • Charge phone at work
    • Yoga tonight to keep me on the straight and narrow
    • Out for dinner after yoga, but will be a veggie meal and no booze - have checked the menu and will be £12-£15
    • Mega house tidy up - parents are visiting this weekend - can't have them thinking their daughter always lives like this!! :p
Hope you are all looking forward to and got fun weekend plans. Just one more day of work to get through for me. Ahhhh :D

    Morning campers!
Hope it's going to be a nice day today, then it's the weekend. Wohoo to dancing animals! Wiggle wiggle!

    Anyway, today I have/will:-

    - Check how long on mobile contract I have left, bills have been going up and up so have a PAYG sim ready to use
    - Pay mobile bill
    - Schnitzel for tea, didn't have it last night as went to Mr T's. Did well without list, only forgot sausages, SR flour and something else which I have *still* forgotten. Very good DFW, they didn't have the mince beef I wanted on the deal so didn't buy it.
    - Catch up on invoicing today, am £2k over my target now so bonus is very bonussy!
    - Got payment arrangement sorted for council tax after disorganised OH managed to get into arrears, I have now taken over this bill as well so I have total control :)

Have a good sparkly friday all :)

    Jx

PS: Anyone that has to buy nappies, Mr T's has a GREAT deal on Pampers simply dry - 88 nappies for £10! The 44 packs that are £7.29 each are 2 for £10 at the moment. Bought some last night but might go get some more for next month incase the offer ends!
