Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.

The amount of people who play WoW as if its there life is unbelievable.
I even recall a guy who played it for something like 37 Hours straight (presumably snacking at his comp etc) and died!

The WoW vid is the funniest for me though, absolute classic :rotfl:

to play it properly you have to raid in a crew, this means grinding the same instance night after night slowly making progress, slowly earning each member there armour upgrades and weapons, this then allows you to show of your leetness in towns etc to lesser mortals who dont have items as good as yours. most raiding crews do not want casual players, they want people who are committed to every night play so that they can optimise progress, it was not uncommon to spend 2-4 hours collecting stuff to enable you to raid (6-8hrs), its very easy to get sucked in and be all consumed by it and quickly loose all sense of reality, the game play is designed to be a massive time sync, and to deliberately exclude casual players from the "leet" gear. it does take a huge amount of commitment and a high level of skill to defeat the hardest parts of the game.

and best of all when you have finally conquered everything after months of endless grinding they come out with an upgrade and render all your equipment obsolete so you can start all over again, at which point i quit ;)

oh and 37 hours straight is nothing, i player legend of mir for 4 days straight with no sleep over the easter chicken event :D

Anyways, the story is he died after the 37 hours (or whatever it was)
He regularly did long stints like that time after time (possibly way longer)
