Oh my, what a lot of beautiful cats! A long time ago I considered a 'Wegie' but thought better of it (have a rescue now) - still dream of having one though! They have such amazing presence!
I would say the kitty could easily have some pedigree blood but probably mixed, hence not so obvious which breed he is
Edit: Can't resist a mention of my kitty!! She is called Polly and also has fluffy hair and fluffy pads so perhaps she has some pedigree blood although her first owner bought her from a pet shop (don't get me started on that!!!) so perhaps not! She is also quite long in the body and short in the leg.Weight loss: Start weight: 80kg; Current Weight: 77kg; Target weight: 55kg0 -
What a fantastic thread! Wonderful Kitties!
Missmontana Do you know his age yet? What does he weigh and how tall is he? He looks like an young NFC to me (the toms don't get their full bulk and coat/mane until they are about 4 years old. My boy is coming up to 3 now and the difference in his coat this winter from last is amazing!
One point though, if he isn't answering to his name he might be telling you that he doesn't like the one you have given him. Mine did that until I called out a load of names to him and he decided he would answer to Yogi! :rotfl:
Enjoy your new boy, they are really great cats.My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

Also look at the tail. Norwegians have long tails so if you bend his tail back over his body it should reach his neck. Maine Coons have shorter tails that probably don't even reach the floor as they walk along.Jojo_the_Tightfisted wrote: »she has long feathers on the back of her legs, which look like she's wearing pantaloons and she goes skating down the laminate because the feathery bits coming out between her toes are like wearing a pair of skates.
Oh, and although she has a little face, her feet are HUGE. (so is her bottom, but I wouldn't be so rude as to say it to her). They also tend to make silly trilling noises when you walk in and fall over on their sides in greeting.
My cat is just like this. I'd love to think she's a Norwegian as I LOVE them but her face isn't quite right. It's like she has the body of a Norwegian and the face of a Siberian. Probably just a moggy though.0 -

he's between 6-8 months, he was called Alan, but I refuse to call him that so as yet he has no name... lol, i do the whole list of names till a cat looks at me too!
My long haired mog Aussie is very fluffy but doesn't compare to this little boy,
I've not seem colouring like his before, the light fur is almost golden, even my dad was quite taken with him.
he does look very long from head to tail.... I'll see if I can get the tape out next to him!Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind. They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.0 -
He could, of course, what with both breeds being very popular for breeders, be an accidental cross between the two. Then the accident wouldn't necessarily become obvious to the breeder until later.
Another lovely breed is the Turkish Fan.
And of course, the Birman.
And the British Shorthair.
And the British Longhair.
And the Siamese.
And the Tonkinese.
And the - oh, who am I kidding, they're ALL lovely!I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
