On the very rare occassions I wear foundation I use the YSL brush one and it is a great colour on me on the days when I need a bit of extra help ;)

I also bought the dior nudeskin pallette last week and love it. It has 3 mineral powders and comes in lots of tones. There is an illuminator, blush and foundation. The quantity of poweders is shocking for £36 but it looks amazing on - like me but younger!

Ive been converted to mineral foundation,I previously used liquid and didn`t think mineral would work. Its great,I use Everyday Minerals a U.S company you can get free sample kits online which are really generous just pay postage about £3,they are great for finding your correct shade. They come in loads of shades, the Ivory kit is the lightest.Just add a kit to your basket and go to checkout, you don`t need to buy anything first.Heres a link for the free kits.

i must be REALLLY pale... even the No.7 woman gave up on me because they didn't have anything pale enough with pinky tones! I kept looking like I'd been tangoed even with just the moisturiser!

I never find anything light enough with Clinique. Shame, as I love their skincare stuff.

Thanks Rock Gypsy for the link, looks great. I've just started occasionally wearing mineral foundation myself. I always hated the feel of liquid foundation, and having a face full of freckles never found one that did not look like a mask, but mineral foundation is so light to wear and looks the most natural on me, so perhaps it will be the answer for my daughters as well. Plus knowing its better for your skin. I do worry sometimes the amount of chemicals young girls plaster on, what it's going to mean for future generations health wise. Fantastic that they send you a sample so you have plenty of time to think it all over with no preassure.

Thanks everyone for their suggestions - I'm not very make-up savvy and have never bought from the assisted make-up counters (with the exception of BS), I did find the whole experience quite intimidating and it was good to know I'd not been out of line going back and asking for a refund, thankfully they did exchange the product. Very definitely something I should have prepared my daughter for, I know for next time.
No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!
