Perhaps by leaving it until today made them realised you werent going away and had to do something !!

    Glad its resolved
  • Thanks everyone for their advice, thanks epatolles for the hint to go to Elizabeth Arden, will def. pass that on to daughter. All good hints since I now have another daughter who is 15 and the same porcelin skin, trawled through town with her yesterday looking for a concealer light enough with no joy. You'd think most of the population was heavily tanned by whats available.
No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!

They refused a refund even though it was the sales rep that had opened and used the product but after me asking to see the manager we did get an exchange and finally got something that matched her skin though no where near as good as the Bodyshop one.

I find this utterly bizarre that they gave her the opened foundation, and find this very unprofessional.

A good make-up counter use the hygienic tester samples to match colour and demonstrate a product, but the ones sold are brand new and sealed.

I buy Benefit make-up, and would be FURIOUS if I was sold a pre-opened product.

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

I'd be highly annoyed - but Mac do take back opened products - I bought the moisture rich roundation which made me look like I'd dipped my face in a chip pan and they took back the used one with no questions asked.

I've decided that MAC foundations are a bit heavy for my now (old age!) So I've moved onto Bobbi Brown. I'm appauled that they wouldn't take it back. Whioch counter and city are you in OP?

Thats a shame. I am not pale myself, but think pale women who keep their make up light look beautiful :-)

No. 7 tinted moisturiser from Boots is lovely for pale complexions. It covers like a foundation but feels very light. I tried Mac once- never again.
The foundation was too dark and after I said I didn't like it, they weren't interested. By the time I got to Boots my face was on fire and the lovely No. 7 lady kindly took it off and calmed my skin down. She wouldn't sell me anything until my skin had returned to normal.

i must be REALLLY pale... even the No.7 woman gave up on me because they didn't have anything pale enough with pinky tones! I kept looking like I'd been tangoed even with just the moisturiser!
