it was on the news not long ago and in the papers but cant remember the site have tried google thats why i thought i asked is this not a SITE to ask question !!!!!!!!!!!

no, before asking do a basic forum search first and see how many dozens of times your identical question has been asked in the last month..... in this case you can then see how much abuse the repetative asking of the same question has attracted..... then decide to ask again :)

does any one know of the new company offering to sell you gas and electric run by a non profiting run company just started up over 10.000 so far signed up thanks gooner

    Ebico

Not exactly a new company; they have been trading for 10 years supplying initially just gas and then gas &/or electricity. They curently have grown their customer base to 55 000.
That's actual current customers, not people who have simply asked for more details such as the tariff ;)

They are a not for profit company ... but that doesn't mean they are the cheapest

I would suggest if you want cheap energy, you use the comparison sites in the resource bar above to see who would offer the cheapest tariff to suit your needs.

  • I love that reply Premier, the only not for profit company selling gas and electricity, is of course Ebico. Pointing that out every time a new user comes on asking is a good idea to combat this insidious viral marketing.

I'd just like to say I registered my details and got home the other night to find myself barraged with e-mails from them telling me of their first update.

I’ll post the message below, but I’d like to say for a company that’s trying to be the ‘peoples’ company sending 6 of the exactly the same e-mail out to your prospective customers is probably not the way to handle your first contact! I’d also like to point out I only registered once, the first e-mail did have a different title but same body text and the e-mails were delivered at different times over a 5 hour period.

Also why are they suggesting that S&SE have chosen to ‘trim’ their prices in response to them? Kind of thought this was in response to BG? And what about all the other suppliers who have ‘trimmed’ prices!

Anyone who had hopes for them should probably change their opinion.

Message below in all its glory...

Your first update from At Cost Energy!

We understand you are busy so here are some quick reference bullet point updates following your interest.

·Firstly, a big thank you from the team here at YOUR not for profit energy company!
·We are already affecting the industry, with Scottish & Southern choosing to trim their prices already! Watch this space, as we predict others will follow.
·Over 15,000 people have already registered with us! This number is growing daily!
·The licence process with the regulator OFGEM takes approximately 6-8 weeks, however we are busy in the background in preparation of supply.
·Always remember with NO shareholders, At Cost Energy is in essence the "People’s" energy company. It’s the same gas and electricity, just supplied in an open, honest and transparent way.
·Keep spreading the word, tell your friends and family, as the more people who say “enough is enough” to their energy company, the more competitive we can be.
·Remember no one is under any obligation to switch to At Cost Energy. Once we communicate our ‘at cost’ rates, you will be in a position to make an informed decision about the savings, choosing between an energy supplier that makes a profit, or one that does not!
