one of the first things to learn about forums is how to use the search button, every forum has one.

it's curious you found your way here to ask about this company that has 10k registered to receive information when and if they actually get started but you didn't think to use google or bing or any other decent search engine.

no doubt seeing you participate in other areas of MSE forums will put peoples suspicions at ease,

it was on the news not long ago and in the papers but cant remember the site have tried google thats why i thought i asked is this not a SITE to ask question !!!!!!!!!!!

Its nothing other than a data harvesting scam as far as I'm concerned.

They are NOT an energy supplier as they dont supply energy at the moment.

They arent willing to provide the prices they will charge if and when they do ever start supplying energy.

I dont understand the need for people to register interest, 3 new companies have started in the past year (First utility, Ovo and LOCO2) and as far as I'm aware none of them wanted people details before they launched.

If the product is good enough and at the right price people will buy it.

If the site gets 10,000 or more peoples details, they will probably sell it to spammers and decide for economic reasons that actually providing the energy isnt worth it.

The firm is called 'at cost energy'. It has been raised on here many times and there have been several threads like this one.

Many of us are cynical about the 'scheme' and believe it is just a way to get personal details of people.

In the unlikely event the company gets off the ground, and if their gas and electricity is cheap enough, then half of the country(millions) will be interested; why would you need to register an interest now?

Given that MSE is plagued with first time posters asking about wonderful new products, there is (justified) cynicism when it is newly joined members enquiring about this cheap energy firm.

I can't guess what search terms you used , each of these give the name of the company on the first page of search returns, so what did you use that you couldn't find the name ??

I'm thinking of starting up a toilet paper company, if I can get enough people to give me all their details in advance, I will tell you when the first order comes thru how much I am going to charge.

My privacy policy will go like this, your name/address/dob/ will only be used for statistical purposes, no personally identifying information will be held. Your information will be shared with any other company in the group and of course when I sell the company (as any self respecting seriel entreneur does) your data will then be subject to the privacy policy of the company I sell to. Your info will be traded as an asset and once sold to the other company you can then ask them to remove it from their database, which of course eventually they will. If you want to know what data is held about you, it will only cost you a £10 admin fee

If you follow this link you will see they applied for a licence on 23rd March, that means it will probably be months before they start supplying customers.
