i dont mean to sound mean but
its not because you paid x amount for it in 2008 that it is worth that now, you need to be realistic or it wont sell. simple fact iam afraid.0 -
could sell his first
what would it rent for.
Could get a lodger.
Looks like you will need to ride this out if you are not prepared to take the loss next door looks much better so if it sells it sets the benchmark for a while.0 -
So I guess next question is, should I even bother leaving it on the market?
Can't get the money back on the HIP now.:(0 -

Yep the lodger ideas isn't a bad one! If you get a lodger you don't need to go through the notion of telling the mortgage provider do you?? As you aren't renting out the house??0 -

Check the terms of your mortgage. Some of them say you need to tell them about ANYONE new living in the property. I know the co-op one I was looking at the other day had this condition.0 -
Your neighbour does not have a loft conversion. Hell, even the EA states that it is just a loft room and cannot refer to it as a bedroom. A velux window and a laminate flloor do not a loft conversion make.
Equally, the summerhouse/home office is just a shed with leccy.
So I'm really not seeing that her house is worth a lot more than yours.0 -
Hmm but it looks better doesn't it!
It's more near a third bedroom than my loft is lol! (and house is bigger)
Shame about the pics as my house feels rather homely. If it were about ten miles up the road I wouldn't move! It's not the size that bothers me at all, just bit far from the OH>0 -
It looks like her EA stood on a step ladder when he took next door's pictures. I'd have mine re-taken if I were you."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0

Ha ha! I suspect he did!
I thought the pics were OK til I saw next doors (as I'd tried to take some and my efforts were even worse!)0 -
