Digital speedo

I have a HTC Hero Phone running Android.
There is a free app called SPEED HUD which does just that, it also has a compass (yanks like them in cars!!) and an accelerometer.
The speed is displayed as Big Fat Digits.
Even cooler is the feature to reverse the display so you can throw your phone on the dash and see it reflected in the windscreen as a Head Up Display (hence the name Speed HUD).
Ridiculous as it sounds it actually works really well against the screen (at night anyway!)0 -
most of the speedometers are now available with this kind of dials which is officially called as digital speedometer it converts the analog signal (which is used to operate normal dials) into digital ones ........... it has many benefits ....accuracy ..style...etc.....0

VW did them as an option at around the same time, but it was stupidly expensive so very few were fitted. Rare as hens teeth now (although you can persuade the astra item to fit-ish). Looked onto putting one into an old Scirocco years ago, and it would have cost nearly as much as the car!0 -

I had a Vauxhall Senator with what must have been a very similar dash.
I liked it.0
