Bought a vodafone mobile contract Nokia 5530 for my daughter from this company. Deal was pretty good and I'm pleased with the package.
However, be warned.
When you sign up through this website, they will automatically pass on your bank details to carphone ware house and TMTI (I think) who will automatically set up direct debits for mobile insurance and a "helpline" respectively.
Unfortunately I didn't have a clue that they were going to do this and had a total shock when they took money from my account. Went to the bank, complained and got my money back (£5.99 and £17.95!). Got a letter from my banks investigation department who told me that these had been set up using a system called ADDIS. Apparently they can re-set up direct debits using this system unless you contact them direcly. Contacted both, Carphone warehouse have agreed to cancel and not take any more money. Still waiting to hear from TMTI. If the set up another DD, look out!
Just a warning, this site offered a great deal but were a bit underhand in passing on details and took money off me without my knowledge!
Its the old cliche, read the smallprint.
Has this happened to anyone else with this or other companies?

But the warning with this company is always welcome (just a shame you got a little burnt.)0 -
I believe that a number of mobile sellers - not just CPW companies - do this. They do advertise this, some more prominently than others.
I deplore this form of "opt out" rather than "opt in" selling, where you as a customer have to take action to cancel something you did not want and may not have been aware of, but the one thing to take from this is you must read terms and conditions carefully before you order and then read the paperwork that comes with the item. This applies not only to mobile phones but all items you order.
May I suggest, with all respect and this is meant to be helpful, not critical, that you also read very carefully the t&c relating to any cashback you may have with this order, keep a copy of them to hand and follow them to the letter if you don't want to be opening a different thread on here in a few months' time as well.0 -
