we got into a little money issue with bt sending us a bill which we could not pay at the time.
but now we can pay it i was looking on the bt website and it states:
But where there's no suitable BT line available in your property, there's no dial tone on the line, or if you have been disconnected for non-payment, there will be a standard connection charge to pay of £124.99, or £50 if you take a Calls & Broadband package (incl. VAT, subject to survey).
i wanted to go with o2 for broadband and i am not paying the £125 to just get a switch flicked.
so is my only option to go with the for the package to save money?

Do you still have a dial tone? Dial 1470 17070 and if you get the number read back to you and a list of options then it should be free to reconnect to BT but if you were cut off for non payment you may have to pay a deposit.
O2 are starting to do landlines soon so you may be able to get them to connect the line and the broadband.0
