It has trouble with watching video streaming.....it shuts down and reboots its self so I thought more ram might help.
Have I got that wrong then?
As already said 2Gb is a generous amount for Windows XP and therefore the problem is not the amount of memory installed.
Unfortunately there could be a number of causes of this ranging from a hardware problem (e.g. overheating, faulty ram etc), driver problems, through to software issues and malware.
When you say it shuts down, is that in a "controlled" way (does Windows give a message saying it's going to shut down). If not does it give a "blue screen of death" or does it just instantly reboot without warning.
Does it do it at any other time apart from when watching streaming videos. If you have a video file saved on your hard drive, does it do it when you attempt to play this?0 -

No warning, no blue screen, just reboots.
Only does it when watching online0
