Help! O2 Iphone advice please

Options
I was 2 months into a 2 year contract with O2 using a 3Gs Iphone when I lost the phone. It wasn't covered by my home and contents insurance or my travel insurance (I lost it abroad and apparently should have registered it separately for it to be covered) so now I have another 22 months of a contract with no Iphone to contemplate. I can't afford to buy a new one. There are all sorts of complications if I manage to use 'someone's old one' etc., like it being locked and not able to take my O2 sim card. Does anyone have any solutions? Thanks

How come you still have the sim card?
I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

  • Because O2 put a stop on the original sim card, but issued a new one - i guess they assumed my Iphone would be replaced with insurance and I would need it! I'm still paying the contract so am entitled to the sim card, but no phone

Unfortunatly as your fault and you have no insurance you need to buy a replacement phone (iPhone or not) and use that. You can't cancel the contract as the phone was stolen.

O2 may be albe to sell you a refurb slightly cheaper thana new one, but thats all your likely to get. Sorry
  • Thanks - i kind of thought that was the case - was just hoping someone knew of a cheap iphone warehouse :rotfl:Back to reality!

Try O2. They know yours was stolen, and you may get a refurb one cheaper than Ebay, and you know the providance of it.

There is one , but it's called a Nokia 5800 does all an iphone can but at less than half the cost (you can even get the fart sound app for it) , there are people selling them often because they have owned it and find it has not matched the euphoria surrounding the device
