We had HD installed today but the picture isn't very good - blurry and the colours are very pale. Engineer said that's what it's like in HD! We have multi room so had the old sky box taken out and the Sky+ box routed round the house. Sky+ had been "failing" to record some programmes the past couple of weeks and when engineer did what he had to do he said it was faulty so went and got a new one from his van - so very pleased about that as we were out of guarantee.
Hopefully watching HD later the picture will be brighter - just got my fingers crossed because OH isn't very pleased with quality atm! :eek:0 -

That may come back & bite you in the bum!All Sky boxes on a van are accounted for,an installer cannot just give you a new box without authorisation &/or payment if out of warrenty.Stops them being nicked & sold on..
If he did'nt then Sky will bill him or you for the box.
Just be prepared for a charge of £65 appearing on your next bill.0 -
Hi Spike - no he didn't just nick it and we won't have to pay either! He put it back in the box with faulty on and scanned the barcode etc. He said he had to that to let Sky know it was faulty and all above board so he didn't have to pay ofr it and neither do we. So no worries! OH is quite happy now for the time being anyway! lol Thanks anyway for the info.0

Mmm...be prepared tho,Just does'nt sound right to me,as an ex-Sky Engineer that is.The scanning of the box for return is normal, the charge being waived without authorisation is'nt.
(Awork colleuge swapped out a box, returned the faulty one but did'nt collect the £65 off the customer,so he was sent back to collect it or he'd pay it.)0 -
is anyone else finding it really really quiet ??
we normally watch tv at 17/20 but having to turn it up to 30 now !!
also we use a cable and a magic eye to watch sky in our bedroom and its a little blurred upstairs
the engineer told us to try a different setting - we are on 68 but to try 21 or 55 - cant remeber what this setting is or how to get to it
he said it was on the installers menu ?
anyone any idea ? ta xxx
i find the HD channels quieter which i put down to the 5.1 audio
i get the same streaming HD media from my PC0 -

Okay - we'll be prepared. If we have to pay we'll cancel multi room. I mean you can't have multi room with just one box can you!0
