Daft cooking question - if I make one of the potato bake thingys, is it ok to line the dish with foil first to make washing up easier?Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

as long as it's decent quality foil then i would say so ames.... but safer just to go without it and stick pan straight into water afterwards, and soak for ages....I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0

Ames, if it's the potato dauphinoise, you could line with baking paper or greasproof paper. this won't eliminate the washing up, but the 'cooked on crispy bits' will be on the paper not the dish.Cats don't have owners - they have staff!!

It's Luc's potato/onion/whatever's in the fridge with whisked egg poured over it.
It's the cooked on need a chisel to get them off bits I want to not have to deal with! I'll give it a go with baking paper. The worst that can happen is that I end up having beans on toast for tea instead!Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0
