Avira Antivir 10 released

It's in the Panda Cloud free AV - http://www.cloudantivirus.com/en/My understanding was that feature is only available in the paid for versions.
Now has a new version so you don't need an account to install it (account was free before but you needed to register - now you just run the setup file and it's up & running).0 -
installed it and uninstalled it 3 times wouldnt work
eventually got it running, wouldnt update
on scanning it still comes up with about 12 false positives
gone back to AVG0 -
I've just updated to Avira 10 (by selecting repair/update as mentioned above) and then ended up having to manually update the virus definitions.
Anyway, I ran a scan and it told me there were 15 hidden objects (as below) - should I be worried?
No
if you believe you might be infected ~
Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
Open malwarebytes and goto UPDATE and click 'check for updates'. After its updated goto SCANNER and click PERFORM FULL SCAN then click SCAN
Post the COMPLETE log in a new thread AFTER youve deleted everything it finds:idea:0 -
When will v9 expire before forcing me to upgrade? As i rule i stick to old version a bit longer till bugs are ironed out on the new versionProblem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems
Well at least i learn something on the way

How do you know they are false positives?
Good luck with avg then.0 -
Just done the upgrade to version 10. I was on version 9 the free one, but I now notice in the aviria control panel the software is only activated until 1/9/11. So is the free version being dropped after this date?0

I think with Vn 9, it had an expiry date that was not as clearly displayed. It did however, auto-renew before the expiry date.
I assume it will be the same with Vn 10.

Yes, that's right, well the bit about the expiry date being hidden.
Just checked mine expires 1/7/10, so a 6mth licence, I've never seen a prompt for renewal, in fact never given it a thought, and I've used it for ages.Move along, nothing to see.0
