Budgeting for groceries: average monthly spend

I'd be interested to know how much other moneysavers spend on groceries each month, roughly. We are two adults and a ten month old baby who is well into solids. We are currently spending £600-700 per month on groceries and I'm wondering if that sounds medium or high (it's certainly not low!).

It would be good to cut it, but I've already tried the obvious things: planning meals each week, cooking mostly from scratch, buying own brand where possible. We don't throw much food away and generally everything that we buy is bought for a specific meal. Any thoughts?

    Very very high.

3 people you should be spending around £250.

I spent £100 a month but that is buying a lot of ready meals and expensive drink.

Have a look at this thread, a bit old but might give you an idea of where you stand and ways of cutting down.

    That's high.

Admittedly for me and OH we pay aroung £250 a month, but that's lunches for both of us, and gluten free and lactose free food for me....otherwise i'd probably starve.
