My daughter has also just had similar texts after buying a new HTC Wildfire on a £10 Tesco monthly contract, we simply swapped the SIM cards over but with the new phone she strated downloading free apps. One of these is a GPS map app, according to websites this is affiliated to Jamster but there's no warning. Her £10 monthly contract came to £40 last month, when looked at her account £1.50 was being taken out 3 times within a second from a 00088.... number. Yet all she had done was open it to see what it said. I phoned Tesco's last night and they have now put a bar on her phone to all premium numbers. Talking to the guy he agreed that Jamster are acting fraudulantly, he said it's not only costing mobile users but providers as well.
Is there anything that can be done to stop this practice/recoup money?, I don't know but one things for sure always contact your provider and arrange to put a bar on all premium numbers.
  • How old are your children ?

as it states on there T&C the child has to be over 16 (I think or may be 18) and use the service with the bill payers consent.

If you ring them on 0800 0325458 you will get through to there customer service who will bar your childs number on there system and if you are nice and polite and ask them to refund your money they will send you a cheque like they did for me

    Hope that helps
