    Out of curiosity.

If the OP cancelled her debit card this evening, would they be able to take the payment tomorrow?

Now thats a blumming good idea,

OP, if you can do without your card for a couple of days till they send yu a new one ring them up and tell them yuo havelost it. They will put a stop on it, but even then you could draw money directly from the bank counter.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

If you cancel your card the money can still be debited from your account. Whereas the better option if your really worried would be to report it lost although now you have already discussed this with Barclays they might be somewhat suspicious.

You didnt say in your first post that yu had paid for it.
You said you tried to buy it and your card was declined.:(

She said that the order went through OK when she did it over the phone - I read it that Dell are still trying to take the money against the first order she tried to do online but couldn't complete because the card was declined.

I am thinking that Dell are trying to take the money cos the OP has made more than one order.....
The order numbers are different, and seemingly, there is another order number, which is the one that has been authorised.
OP - Make sure that when you phone Dell, you cancel the other 2 orders - otherwise you will find that they will continue to try and get the money for the laptops that you've ordered!!!
Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??

I reckon Dell have slipped up here, not the OP. When she phoned Dell and explained the problem ie she was trying to buy online but there seemed to be a problem with her card, Dell should surely have checked their system to see if they could see hwat was going wrong? If they then said they would do a manual transaction over the phone, they should have ensured that the unsuccessful previous 'tries' had been cancelled! Seems that common snese and customer care were lacking.

Not the OPs fault that Dell slipped up and its a pain in the a*** for her now.

Thanks i was worried really bad last night so i don't think my point came across, I got paid today and i also got my bonus so i was worried that they wuld try to take payment leaving me with not enough money to cover my bills. Dell had told me that my 1st order had been cancled.
I think it might be sorted now. Thanks to all the people that gave my sound advise.
