T-Mobile UK "World Email Booster"
Options
Hello all,
I tried searching for something along the lines on what I am about to ask but couldn't find anything.
I'm on T-Mobile UK with a 9700. They offer a World Email Booster for £15 which only covers email data (and presumably Blackberry chat).
Although the internet would be handy I would only really want news and sport. Is there something that can be added to our BB email to feed in RSS feeds so that it incorporates into data rather than internet at all?

did a quick look on the internet, there are RSS to email feeders available. I assume therefore you would be emailed the updates. Sounds like a plan if you want to avoid roaming data charges, make sure you do.
My advise is that you disable all the apps on your phone, as its high risk one of them will be communicating in the background and driving you up a high bill. Personally I don't take my smartphone abroad, I use my trusty Nokia 6100 from 6 years ago.0 -

Usually there is a setting that asks if you want data usage whilst roaming and so data can/should be able to be disabled whilst roaming :beer:0 -
yes but email is data and he wants to use it0

As I understand it similar to the blackberry worldwide roaming bundle, as long as data is routed through the Blackberry APN then it should be included within the booster.0

There are also Euro Broadband Boosters for using internet on your phone when abroad in the EU.
£10 gets you 50MB for a week which works out pretty good0 -
Well got back from the States, Germany and Spain and T-Mobile gave me an astronomical bill of £474.55 which was soon wiped off after much haggling and the threat of legal action/trading standards. I believe after the 1st July, T-Mobile will cap BB charges whilst roaming to £4/day (£48/mth max) including internet data, which is not bad considering that the equivalents of Mobile broadband in Spain, Movistar do an unlimited 3meg monthley service for €17.40, Orange.es offer unlimited for €35 and Vodafone a little higher at €49. Sadly their World Email Booster, despite the name, is a bit ambigious as it says it includes unlimited data but it does not and Customer Services are clueless as the three people I spoke to did not know that the World Email Blackberry booster existed.0

just an update that the World Email Booster for Blackberry does include email data, normal data, BBM and tethered data on laptops - tried and tested with no additional costs0

Now that T-Mobile and Orange are together, does this pack exist on Orange too, especially for pay monthly customers?
"Travel data 10mb" seems to be the equivalent that Orange offer. That name sounds a bit ambiguous to me but hey. Its £15.32 for 30-days and you have to activate it 24h before leaving the UK.
Clearly the World Email Booster for email, BBM, Internet, social media stuff would be better as its 50MB for the same price....so does anyone know?Interested in property investment, web tech, social media, forex, equities. Also a proud father & entrepreneur of sorts.0 -

Nope - Orange and T-M do not merge services alas. Just network coverage. T-M dont even do Orange Wednesdays!
My plan is up for renewal and I will stick with T-M. Vodafone's "Data Traveller" is too restrictive and I have used the "World Email Booster" many times without a hitch, tethered to a laptop.0
