Let us know how you get on.
Good Luck0 -
i was brought up in near dursley and to be honest i would steer clear (cos nothing jumps out as romantic there lol) and maybe head for gloucester for the evening, there are nice bars and restaurants around the docks and the boats look lovely lit up in the dark, alternatively the rose and crown in nympsfield as mentioned before does have a good reputation for food as does the george inn in frocester and the fox and hounds in coaley also if you go to either of these pubs just up the road is coaley viewpoint/picnic site this is a lovely way to spend the afternoon to walk off your meal or even to sit there on a rug with romantic picnic in tow chatting the afternoon away this is money saving expert after all!:p plus you can make your excuses and do a quick runner if she is a minger without having to sit through the whole meal;) , dont take her there in the dark though she will wonder whats going on!
and lastly good luck, i met my hubby on the internet too but it took us a year of chatting to meet  wish i`d had the guts to meet up sooner because i was very dubious of "internet romances" as he is honestly the nicest man i have ever known, let us know how you get on we are all just too nosy here:o :rotfl:proper prior planning prevents !!!!!! poor performance!Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realise we cannot eat moneyquote from an american indian.0 -
Well, the date has been and gone. We ended up in the Britania in Nailsworth, which was very nice. We only went for a drink in the end, but it was still a pleasant couple of hours. Difficult to say how it went though. We seemed to get on quite well, plenty in common, but I'm not sure I could see us as an old married couple. Strangely though, I'd quite like to see her again. If anybody can figure out that contradiction, you are doing better than me! She said she would be in touch but I have a feeling that this will be the only date. Oh well, plenty more fish in the sea.

Do the gentlemanly thing and ask her to suggest a venue as it is her turf after all, you can say you don't know the area and are worried you might pick some rat infested hovel! Arrange to meet local at a pub or cafe she suggests, if she's got horns buy her a cup of tea and make your excuses, go to the toilet and crawl throught the window. (check yell.com for local taxi companies before you leave the house just to be safe!)Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0

Stephen_Webber wrote:Thanks. I know the area round here pretty well. Two of my favourites are the White Hart at Littleton on Severn or the Bowl at Lower Almondsbury. Plus I can think of a few more
it's the first date that's the problem, since I don't really want to ask the poor girl to come all the way down to Bristol.
Cheers,
Stephen
I once went on a blind date at The White Heart, and I have been on a first date at The Bowl.0
