It's my first date with this lady, not my first ever date
I'd never dream of going dutch on a first date - it's just not in my nature.
Thanks for the suggestions, I'll have a look. Somebody suggested the Rose and Crown in Nympsfield? Anybody been there recently?
Cheers,
Stephen0 -
I've done a couple of first dates at the Comedy Store. Not sure if there's something similar where you are tho. Its somewhere where you can both have a drink and have someone make you both laugh. Its fun and less pressure than a restaurant and more high class than a pub!0

but it may be in hers. if you have to do it and she insists let her pay for the next one or better go dutch. It's my first date with this lady, not my first ever date I'd never dream of going dutch on a first date - it's just not in my nature.
can you look in guide to pubs and resturants and see how many stars or whatever they have- not ideal but could come up with other suggestions or why not ask the lady herself? Thanks for the suggestions, I'll have a look. I think the AA gave it 3 stars and I've already asked the lady. Just waiting for an answer, but thought it might be better if I had some suggestions already and lined up.

No advice but just thought how nice it is that you are going to a bit of time and trouble to organise something nice.
Well done and good luck0 -
agreed - just because aa or some other guide says it's x,y,z it doesn't mean it is- it's just the opinion the reviewer (s) - always best to get as many opinions as possible and have list of places up your sleeve just in case- in reality it shouldn't matter where you go as such- as long as both feel comfortable- it's not the place she's going to see.I think the AA gave it 3 stars and I've already asked the lady. If all goes well on the first date

A few ideas for a second
'The Dog Inn' in Old Sodbury
or
'The Swan' in Winterbourne
Both very nice food and nice places to drink and eat.
Good Luck :beer:0 -

Thanks. I know the area round here pretty well. Two of my favourites are the White Hart at Littleton on Severn or the Bowl at Lower Almondsbury. Plus I can think of a few more
it's the first date that's the problem, since I don't really want to ask the poor girl to come all the way down to Bristol.
Cheers,
