Hi
Al the major suppliers have PAYG mobile broadband - just google "mobile broadband" and you'll get all the info you need.
FWIW, Three are often the cheapest, but have quite a lot of complaints for random disconnections, poor speed etc. I've used mine all over the place and rarely have any problem, although it isn't always very fast.
I also have an 02 mobile broadband (one is personal, one for work.) The o2 works better and more reliably than the Three, but it's a lot more expensive. (They are both on contract, not PAYG - but you'll probably find the same price variance for PAYG.)
You'll probablt have learned by now that mobile "broadband" is a bit of a misnomer. You will not achieve anything like genuine broadband speed.0 -
Thanks for the response
I want a pay and go one as i had the contract with vodaphone for 12 months and this time i dont want to have to pay yearly. I just want to top up when i will need it thats why i put in my post about using vouchers to top up as i am not sure of the networks that give this service .thanx0 -
i got a vodafone one, got it from argos for £39.99 (inc £15 credit)
the good thing about it is that the credit does not expire unlike some which only last 30 daysWWSD(what would Scooby Doo)0 -
i have an o2 pay as you go dongle....bought it from o2 shop for £10 while on offer - think theyre usually £30??????? to top up its £2 a day or £7.50 a week.....not sure of other rates .....i only use it for when my virgin connection is down but i find its ok...0

If you're happy with the existing dongle from Vodafone, they can convert it to a pay-as-you-go one free of charge at the end of the contract - just give them a call.
Cheers,

I've just signed up for an O2 PAYG broadband. I rang O2 customer services, got offered a Dongle and sim for £10 instead of £30. Think it was £2 per day, £7 per week or £15 per month.
Its ideal for what I want. You can use it at home on Wi-Fi to connect to your home broadband (which Voda told me I wouldn't be able to do with theirs as its not Wi-fi compatable), and you can use it on a Wi-Fi hotspot, both of which do not use up any of your allowance. You can also use the dongle as a memory stick by buying a micro-sd card.
I haven't been able to try it out yet though as I am waiting to get a lap top.
Does anyone know where to get the best deal on a micro-sd card?

Just done the same having been with Three for the past 2 years. Sadly, at renewal they didn't seem to understand the concept of "I don't need all that data" and just kept offering me lots of data for more than I wanted to pay. Anyway, I was quite tempted by O2's 1Gb deal. £10 a month but the first 3 months are free, plus £60 cashback through Quidco, so £5 a month over 18 months. The )2 deal also gives you BT OpenZone and The Cloud WiFi.
However, I ended up going with Vodafone's PAYG dongle from Maplin. Sounds liek the same deal as the Argos one - £15 top up for 1 Gb - with no expiry. Maplin had it for £29.99 inc 1 Gb. Seemed the best deal for me as I had only averaged 200Mb a month over 24 months.0 -
voda is the best out of the p&g, o2 has a bad signal0

Still best deal for me as the majority of the time I will just be using the dongle as a modem at home and when I do use it elsewhere, the areas I will be using it should be ok.
I tried Voda, but they seemed very reluctant to let me have PAYG, they wanted to sign me up for a contract at £15 per month, but that is no good to me, I won't need it every month. Their dongle will not work with Wi-fi.0 -
