Can I get away with not using a stamp?

And don't forget that behaviour like that puts costs up for the rest of us, especially those in more restricted financial circumstances.
Erm, since when have you know what my financial circumstances are? I may very well be very 'restricted', financially so don't compare me to others without knowing the full picture.0 -
If you are so financially restricted you cannot afford a stamp you need either some budgetting advice, some debt management advice, or both!Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

For all, remember the price of stamps increase soon, so get some in now :money:Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Hi 7Sefton
As this is not an Old Style thread, I have moved it to Praise Vent and Warnings
Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.
Thanks:)

I'm a manager for Tesco, and with my mail the other day I received a note from the postman about a letter with underpaid postage. One of my staff was going round by the sorting office do I gave them the £1.08 and asked them to pick it up on their way back. The postage was 8p short, and £1 was the admin charge. When my member of staff returned with the letter after their lunch, I opened it to find it was a copy of someone's CV. I can say that it promptly found its way into the bin, since they can't be bothered to pay the correct postage.0

all junk mail gets returned to sender in a plain envelope without a stamp addressed to accounts receivable. the takeaway owners, glazing firms etc must pay to receive what they think is a cheque.0

I received a similar note from my postman - 8p underpaid plus £1 admin fee and this was from a solicitor wanting to sue me, claiming I had published defamatory content about him on the internet...

8p, is of course, the difference in price between a second class large letter and a first class letter!0 -

There is more to a supermarket than just stacking shelves.0 -
I have posted debt collection letters that constantly arrive at my address for a previous tenant (about 3 a week for 2 years running), with that little return envelope with a box labeled "affix stamp here" after wasting a good 6 stamps, which already breaks the £ barrier from the P, just to post a "not at this address" which will still be ignored anyway, I decided not to put a stamp on them, whether they get a fee for them or not, it really is not my problem.
Whilst people are quick to judge others complaining about the price of one first class stamp, I am reminded of the quote "pennies make pounds".
Without knowing the OPs financial situation, nobody is really in a position to shout how much is too much, or indeed judge them on the financial burden, none of which is relevant to the OPs question.
Will the letter be returned, received or discarded if no stamp is affixed? - I imagine it gets held in a sorting office, with a £1 handling fee for it to be collected. After a set period of time, it will get discarded.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A
