cause and effect.
if you prepared to do the crime... you gotta be prepared to do the time..
In this case no time.. but you lose your job.. and will have been paid Feb and March amoun without working... obviously you gonna be sacked...
handing in resignation will save it from your record.... so when someone asks you in future (why did you leave.. you say.. i felt like a change of scenery... quit. as opposed to ... im a dirty thiefr... employ me so i can steal your ink toners :O).
sorry im laughing now .. and its not right.. even though you did thief.. you are now screwed lol... but its not right to laugh lol. ah dammit i cant stop it.
next time dont try to steal from employer...0 -
Unfortunately for the OP he got caught, although not sure how.
So for everyone judging - people in glass houses......
How many people write at home with pen's 'borrowed' from work or a piece of paper.
May only be 20p but the principal is the same.

People may or may not believe him - again why not give him the benefit of the doubt.
Unless there are other key factors to this which we aren't being told I for one hope he gets a warning but can keep his job.
Everyone who is having a dig. Have a little sympathy. For the one mistake he could lose quite a bit. He certainly didn't post here to get abuse, and is surely feeling low enough without others having a go.
Would you be happier if he was unemployed and the taxpayers paying for everything he needs in future.
By the way OP did you ever take work home, print work off at home etc? I know the meeting is over now and you are awaiting a decision but if you mention you do that they could be more lenient?
I hope it all works out well for the OP.
however there are plenty out there who will come of JS to take that position.
so the argument doesnt really stand0 -

and you run the risk of being in the OP's position
its one of the reasons i didnt take any of these types of schemes from work.
the one i took was bike2work as i knew at £500 max it was a manageable sum if something happened and i had to pay it off0 -

When a person borrows something they actually ask the permission of the person who owns it first. That is why it is called borrowing and not stealing. Please don't dress this up to make it look pretty.onehitwonder wrote: »Everyone who is having a dig. Have a little sympathy. For the one mistake he could lose quite a bit.
I'd be more sympathetic if the OP was less petulant and hadn't trotted out the "How will I feed my wife and three children" line. Should have thought about that, before he resorted to theft to save a few quid.0 -
to all the people that say i am getting what i deserve then yes you are more than likely right but the fact is yes i work from home and yes i should have asked permission before i took the toner but i had every intention to replace it as i had all ready ordered a replacement before i took it and i have proof of this
if you cant help me witht the questions i have ask then im sorry but you have no real right to judge me i have held my hands up and said yes i took it but here is the proof i was going to replace it,0 -
Hi,
your employers reaction does sound out of proportion to the crime. When working at home did you ever use your own paper and ink to produce print outs for work? If so did work refund you for using your paper and ink?
When, I have been working at home I have taken paper home in the past to print out large documents for proofing. I would not want to waste my paper printing out these documents, that I do not read for fun but for work!
At work, I once wittiness a senior person printing out their kids Christmas cards!:mad:0 -

Funny you didn't mention that earlier.
Did you not follow the procedure for sorting your stationary consumables? ie Sign it out with the person in charge after showing them that you had your toner on order and would replace it once yours had arrived?0 -

So are you going to explain how you are going to to pay for the loan on the car, while unemployed?0 -
