Hi,
A long story but.... I decided to sell a mobile I no longer wanted on money4ur mobile. However, they are claiming my phone is blocked/ stolen. What happened was I lost my phone on a night out, it wasn't handed in to the the bar I was in so the next day I blocked it with 3 and reported to the police.
Magically, it was handed in to my local police station over a month later! By this point I already had a new phone but I called 3 unblocked it and it was working fine. However, as I prefered my newer phone I sent it to Money4ur mobile.
As I hadn't recieved my money through a week later, I emailed them and this is when they told me my phone was blocked/stolen. Apprenlty I can't have any money or the phone back for this reason.
I sent an email back expliaining what had happen etc. But they keep saying (very rudly!!) the programme they use is telling them its blocked, tell 3 to unblock it. But it IS unblocked, it called them today and checked and its still is....
What can I do??? 3 won't provide me with proof, as the phone is for my use etc.....

Hi Dannim
We are sorry about your experience however we use a system called Checkmend on every phone we recieve.
Checkmend is a database of all items which have even been reported stolen, blocked or part of an insurance claim. When checkmend shows a block we are unable to make any payment or return the item and put it in quarrantine for 30 days then its disposed of as we cant be sure of its rightful owner.
I dont have the details of your particular case but would like to assure you that we take customer service seriously and we are sorry you feel like we have been rude however until checkmend shows an item as unblocked we can't do anything as we dont maintain or update checkmend.
For further details on checkmend visit:
www.checkmend.com
Hope this helps.“Official Company Representative
I am the official company representative of Money4urMobile. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"0 -
Once again very help for the phone is legally mine!! Give it to the police and they will return it to me (as it my phone) and you have to right to keep hold of it... I don't care what 'SYSTEM' you use....?0

Christ, what a great response: "Our system doesnt work properly, so we wont pay you or give your property back, oh, and guess what, we will destroy it in a month, bad luck"
An avoidable company.0 -
that response has put me right off ever using them.
classic case of "computer says no."0 -

TRANSLATED MEANS
We will tell you your phone is blocked, say we are going to keep it for 30 days the dispose if it but what we are really going to do is sell it on and are just trying to get out of paying you for your perfectly fine phone!!!!!!

If i were you i would probably get the companies details up phone the police station possibly even go into the one where YOUR phone was handed in as they will more than likely have all YOUR phone deatails still in the system and report this SCAMMING company mabey the police can help you with getting YOUR phone back so you can go through a company that wont fob you off.
Failing that depending on the value of YOUR phone call 3 back get them to send you all your details out and start a small claims procedings against money4urmobile
And dont forgett to report them to trading standards.
there is a thread on here regarding them prehaps some other mse's will be able to help

Hey "Money4urMobile" rep.
I have a theory that companies that use names that contain "quirky" mis-spellings or pointless "cutsey" abbreviations are a complete, unprofessional waste of time and not to be touched with a barge pole.
Now I was prepared to make an exception for phone companies to recognise the idea of latching on to things like text speak for its connection with phones, but with your utterly pathetic answer above you've shown me the error of my ways. I'd just like to say a big "Bravo" for your help with continuing to prove my theory that companies with stupid names are not worth dealing with.
HTH HAND as I'm sure you might say.If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -
Hi Guys,
I contacted the company (CHECKMEND) who's system is saying my phone is stolen.
They were really helpful, unlike money4ur mobile, and said there system could be mistaken as the phone was previously blocked/stolen and they are going to look into it for me.
There is some hope yet. I've also contacted the police so I'll see what happens.0 -
All sorted now, thanks to CHECKMEND!0
