Been with 02 on LLU for over a month now, superb speeds far better than sky.

There are TWO ways you can reduce the initial cost of o2 Home Broadband:
a) Go via an online cashback referral site - eg Quidco & TopCashBack to get to the o2 site to sign up - amounts vary over time & between sites; and
b) Get whatever offers the o2 site itself offers - currently first 3months free on the (worthwhile) Std/Prem/Pro packages.
Together that makes the first year's net-cost from c£20!!! (for the year, not per month!) See my other posts for relevant links/net-cost analyses.

I don't think you can just buy an O2 simcard for the reduced broadband rates and leave it at that... you also need to regularly top it up with a certain amount of credit.christabell wrote: »Hello..............my two pence worth is this...
I changed to O2 in September last year because the 7 years I was with Tesco made me thinK about paying not much more for a much faster speed.
I changed to O2, and I am very pleased with them HOWEVER....THEY ARE SO MUCH CHEAPER IF YOU HAVE A MOBILE WITH THEM.....BUY THEIR CHEAPEST SIMCARD.......THEN GO WITH THEM.
Can't remember what it is, but I do recall reading it somewhere in the T&Cs.0 -

Correct, if you are relying on an o2 PAYG # to blag the discount then you MUST have £10+ of top-up in the 3months to 3days before the o2 Home BB bill to get that month's o2 Home BB bill discounted by the £5.
So YES you do have to top it up, but that s/be a no-brainer as:
1. Top up the o2 PAYG SIM £10 every 3 months = cost to you
2. Get 3 x £5 bill discounts = £15 cash saved
= £5 in pocket every 3 months.
And as long as you "make or receive a chargeable call at least once in any 6 month period" your PAYG £10 credit + rewards + surprises + Talk package benefits would REMAIN LIVE on that PAYG, ie you're saving £5 cash every quarter AND building up £11+ credit.
See my earlier links & my o2 Mobile £5 discount one page summary of tips/links on the subject.
