can i get tv, specifically iplayer/tv on demand on my iphone??? i will be going into hospital at weekend and dont want to have to bring in a portable tv or a dvd player if there is a way i can watch it on my iphone? i have just tried going through the motions as you would on any pc and just as you press play it sends a message saying you need to download flash, yet when you try to do that it says something about it not being compatible with apple. is there another way around it?????

The BBC are working on iPlayer for the iPhone, but it's not out yet.0

Could just visit http://bbc.co.uk/iplaye from iphone to view the programmes (not sure exactly what you would watch on the BBC :-) but that's another story).
Info here for mobiles

There is a sky tv app I think somewhere - with subscription of course http://shop.o2.co.uk/update/skyoffer.html0 -
I use iPlayer on my iPhone all the time. www.bbc.co.uk/mobile/iphone and it resizes everything and makes it quicktime compatible.
Only one issue you may have though is that iplayer only works over wifi and not 3G?
Also you can watch www.tvcatchup.com on the iphone... and this will work over 3G!0 -
You could watch TVcatchup which lets you watch live bbc/itv plus many other channels:

I don't know "why?" as such... I just know that it doesn't work on my or anyone else that I know's iPhone!
It even says on iPlayer to switch to a wifi connection if you have it disconnected.0 -

One thing I'm not sure about, are there still rules about using mobile phones/other EM transmitting equipment in hospitals? I'm sure last time I was in A&E there were still signs asking for them to be switched off, but I don't know if there are different rules in the wards
Edit: just found this, so you'll probably be OK, but you may need to have them test the charger first0 -
