Have you carefully checked each line in the Startup List? I'm sure that I recently did this very thing for someone who used to use BTOW dial-up and then moved to a different ISP.:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

I've just realised something...........I went through my start list via msconfig last night and removed a lot of stuff I didn't need as laptop was taken an AGE to start up. I removed 2 BTYahoo programmes that werent essential but didn't equate that removal with the problems I was having. Just tested connection by trying to log onto a site I know doesn't exist and all I get is the correct Firefox alert that tells me I need to try again rather than that annoying dial up box.
Hurrah! I fixed it all by myself and I didn't even know it!! Many thanks for your help anyway, much appreciated.0 -
