credit ratings apply to individuals so her rating will have nothing to do with yours

    Why make an appointment?

These are the ones I usually suggest

there is a Halifax one somewhere....

Just apply online, don't need to go into branch and spend an hour speaking to some crappy bank clerk telling you stuff you don't need to, getting you to open a crappy savings account etc.

agreed....if you go in to the bank then they will simply try and flog you a lot of rather useless accounts with pitiful interest that you neither want or need!

They will ask for the ID later. If you apply online, they send a letter asking you to take ID to a branch. You don't need an appointment to do this and will take literally 3 minutes. Much more convenient than applying in a branch.

Does you daughter have any accounts anyway, e.g. a savings account?

it may prove difficult to open an account online as they usually do a search to check electoral roll etc.. as an 16 year old she won't appear

16 and 17 year olds should be put on the electoral roll even though they can't vote yet.

It actually states this on the electoral registration form.
