Sunny_Saver wrote: »Thanks Stuart... You (and I) assumed the third engineer would show up at the appointed time. He didn't.
Despite receiving an automated message saying he'd be here between 8-1 today and confirming this on the phone this morning, he did not show up.
I rung BT and was then told that the order for the engineer didn't go through.
Used to get that all the time when I was with Sky BBand, the systems Sky use to book a BT engineer thru,as well as other ISP's is a nightmare!
The are two systems, one for LLU & one for Off Net (ie O2 Access)
I'm assuming the other ISP's are useing the same systems.
Quite often when I'd call a customer to see what the engineer said, the engineer had'nt shown up so it was a start all over again....0 -
I just got a call from BT Broadband asking if my landline was with them. Err, don't you know???
Apparently there's a fault with the landline (not that I've noticed), which has to be fixed first before the broadband can be.
I have to phone up to report it myself... Thanks for the customer service BT.“It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living.”

Then I suspect you don't have a broadband fault at all, it's just the line. Do you have noise/crackling on the line? Dial 17070, select option 2, Quiet Line test.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

No problem at all with the landline. No crackling or noises. It's been fine. The quiet line test seemed fine too.
Been using it all day today to speak to BT and also for the last two weeks.
Another BT guy just rung and said there was a fire this morning in North West London which has affected the lines in London and the rest of the country, but they should have it up and running within 48 hours.
I told him, this problem has been ongoing for two weeks and one day, not just today... so we can't really blame the fire can we?
Another BT employee, another excuse...“It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living.”

But have you done the Quiet Line test? That's what it's there to detect. Just listen for about 20 seconds after you select the option. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Yes, as my post stated, the quiet line test sounded fine too.
There is nothing wrong with my telephone line.“It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living.”
