This is not a healthy kind to the enviroment solution, but i used to use methalated spirits put it on a rag and really coat sticky bit, seems to melt it, may have to apply few times and a window scraper from wilkies...then clean area after with soapy water...i used to work as a cleaner for builders cleans and this worked for me.
But beware of the fumes0 -
Oooo i have got some methylated spirits sitting in the garage, will give that a go on the inside of windows/outside of the side windows. Not sure i will risk that on the roof :S0

i work for a marine glazing company and we always clean our glass before we do anything with methelated spirits (the purple stuff)! works a treat. you will probaby have to apply libberally and scrub at it with a sponge (nothing too abrasive) and i will eventually come off.
are you removing the glue residue, or are you trying to remove the CE marking and text on the glass? if its the CE marking (meaning the glass is toughened) you won be able to remove it unless you have a glass poilishing kit as its part of the glass (its a ceramic ink) that is baked at the same time as the glass is, before being quenched and toiughened. essentially, it is the same molecular structure as the glass if it is, and dont even try to remove it becuase its pointless.
if its glue and muck, then wash away. sugar soap will remove glue and grease just as easily too, just wear gloves tho!.
good luck!0 -

Its the glue residue from the stickers on the glass. Gave the methelated spirits a go tonight seems to got most of it off the inside, just got to figure out how to clean the outside now....dont think you can climb on the glass :cool:0 -
I just built a greenhouse that had some bits stuck to the glass with masking tape. It wasn't low tack, either.
Regular cleaners didn't work, but I shifted the residue with Sticky Stuff Remover from Lakeland. It still took some elbow grease, but it worked.import this0 -

A great cleaner and gives windows a nice shine too. Brings off grease and all sticky stuff. Very cheap too!
Thats what all the sticky stuff removers have in them. Except this is pure!!!If you found my post helpful, please remember to press the THANKS button! --->0
