Quidco cashback

I signed up with Plusnet and went through the Quidco site. But I have had no indication of how or when I received the cashback, nor any sort of confirmation that there is a cashback.

I even went back to the Quidco site because as the signup process progressed there was no inidcation that Quidco was involved. Where do I start to query? With Plusnet or Quidco?

There never is any indication of the sites where you are signing up that you entered via Quidco - that all takes place at server level.

You raise the query through the Quidco site ( after login - support link / earnings enquiry tab / compose earnings enquiry link)

It may be that you didn't follow the instructions on the site about clearing cookies in which case if you'd visited Plusnet directly before following the Quidco link you may lose the cashback.

Tracking does not take place immediately, it can take a few days-when did you sign up?
Log in to your Quidco account and see if it has tracked after a few days.

Thank you macman and kwikbreaks. I'll start with my quidco account. As this was the first time I used Quidco, I didn't even realise that I had an account! (I do remember signing up though!)

Just wanted to get back and say that I have figured things out. £28.00 had been validated 3 March. I had to go into accounts and enter the details of where I wanted it paid into. Even then I had to hunt around to figure this out.

As a newbie to the concept and system, it would have been nice if Quidco had emailed me a notification that I had received the money. Maybe there is a setting for this...but it hasn't been clear. I hadn't had the patience to investigate cashback sites like this and I now wonder how many people have actually received some money but didn't know and then gave up.

Thanks for the clue about the Quidco account!

Quidco send both confirmation of tracking and confirmation of payments by email.
'Validation' is not the same as payment-you haven't yet been paid.
When you signed up you will have been given the opportunity to put in your bank account detail so that you can be paid.

    Hi Macman,
I am pretty competent on computers and online use. None of this was apparent to me when I joined. It may have been there, but not apparent. I received no email when the money was "deposited" or validated. I received no email saying "you have money, but no account has been entered."

Hopefully this thread will help others to look further as well as all of you good people here.

Quidco "updated" their interface a while back. The old one was plain, boring, and very functional. The new one is glitzy and a steaming pile of brown stuff to actually use imo.

I just had a tracking email but it is the first I recall ever receiving so I'm not sure if it is new or the others vanished in my spam folder.

Despite the shortcomings I think it is well worth persisting with as there are some big ticket savings as well as titchy 2% and 3% cashbacks on many shops. Big ticket items I've had money on are mobile phone deals, energy switching, broadband, insurances, and bank account opening - nearly £800 in payouts on stuff I would have bought anyway (although the cashback probably influenced which of several options sometimes). In an earlier discussion on this there were plenty who had got more than me. I've never lost a cashback although some took a very long time to arrive - Co-op car insurance £55 took 10 months to arrive in my bank.

Curently waiting on £120 for switch to npower and £50 for buying AA home insurance - both being cheapest from comparison site searches.

You are confusing validation with payment. Quidco can send tracking confirmation emails and payment confirmation emails. Not validation emails. If you log in and go Settings>Email Preferences, you can set up whatever email alerts you prefer.

I've noticed that I'm the only poster in this thread using an avatar.

I recently came across this one which may appeal to someone posting here...

    OTOH perhaps it won't ;)

Thanks kwikbreaks. I think you may have hit the point in that maybe there is too much going on for newbies to the site and concept to take in.

I will check it out again, as I will be revisiting my energy provider. I am happy with the £28.00 cashback for Plusnet. After years of AOL and a nightmare over the Christmas holidays with the most terrible customer service system in place, I made the move to Plusnet, and remembered a cashback mention on Moneysavers.

Am very happy with Plusnet, and it's easy to keep track of usuage. Free between Midnight and 8am. I save my iplayer downloads for then.
