You will have to close down your single claim and they will send you forms for a joint claim. So just write it all down there.

    DLA will not change
CA wont change as your still carer
Housing benefit you may have to pay full rent
Council tax you'll loose single adult occupier discount so may have to pay in full

With regards to housing association tell them hes moved in its up to you if you want to change tenancy over to a joint one
I never have simply because if we was to split Im unsure what would happen to house

Just a warning child tax credits are A NIGHTMARE to deal with you'll have to end claim as a single person do this ASAP or you'll have an overpayment
It will them take them up to 2 weeks to send you a new form then approx 4 weeks to process when they recieve it a little tip send back recorded delivery they cant say they havent received it then

Your partner may also be able to claim working tax credits

    Good luck
  • Hi i am the same situation i have just come on benefits and moved in with my partner
    Your IS will stop
You will have to make a joint claim for tax credits
When they work out tax credits they 'will' count carers allowance as your income' i also claim carers allowance
I would also be aware you will be living on nothing until your sorted we did this in October 09 and its just sorted now .. until you know your tax credits income and have it in an award letter then you apply for hb and ct benefit ..its a long road !
:oAutism isn't the end of the world just a journey to another one:)
:eek:Why do people answer your questions just to be rude and unhelpful, don't like my question please don't answer:eek:
