Well it seems that a little progress has been made. In theory I'm getting a Wickes approved electrician to do an inspection and issue certificate next week - would have been sorted a lot quicker if Wickes didn't go through designers/consultants quicker than most people change their undies!
Fingers still crossed they actually turn up..... Thanks for the assistance on the forum
