im looking for something with about 15k miles ideally. 30k is quite high for a bike. vfr's are great bikes from what i've read though. noticed a 2001 gsxr 600 with 12k miles near me for 2.5k. may put an offer in.0 -

Well serviced and maintained and it's irrelevant.
I've got an old 1994 L Reg Triumph Trophy 900 triple with around the same mileage on it. It goes like a dream and pulls like a train. A pal of mine has a similar aged Diversion 600 with over 90k on the clock and it's in daily use.
I would recommend for what you want that you stay away from a high revving sports bike, and go for something that is a little more relaxed and longer legged. If you ride well you'll see off the muppets on their pocket rockets. I know cos I could out ride most of them on my XJR1200 or even a Pan European! The Triumph is pretty pants on handling, wallows on corners and the brakes are challenging to say the least!Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

I'm sorry, I don't apologise. That's just the way I am. Homer (Simpson)0 -

At this small age with no income, I will not recomend you take loans.. try live simple and easy..Dont mess up with loans n banks at 19.0

The banks are not lending to anyone that they see as even a small risk. £5000 loan for a bike sounds a lot though, especially as you'll have additional costs like insurance etc to think about that will add up. My advice would be to save up for a year or two and then borrow a smaller amount when you want to buy, or don't borrow at all. Remember the name of the website has 'money saving' in it!
If you do need insurance for your motorbike I'd recommend these guys btw: http://www.moneymaxim.co.uk/cheap-bike-insurance0
