Why do you need a 5 grand bike? My bf got a perfectly good 2000 Bandit for £1500 in near mint condition.....

bandits are a bit tame unfortunately. i'm looking for a sports 6.
Suzuki are doing 0% on a number of models, you could get yourself a SV650 sport for just £500 down and 36 payments of £141.

yeah but i'd prefer a bike that's not pants and wont lose about 2.5k in depreciation when i come to sell it

and as for being restricted to 33bhp, i've done my time and have a full licence :P

giorno, the bandit was just an illustration, you can get a fine sports bike for 2k. Why waste more...?

because im looking for a bike that'll last me a good few years with low mileage and although i don't know too much about financial things, i know a bit about bikes and it's a better investment to buy something i want and will keep rather than something i dont want for less and getting rid of it pretty soon as i have done before.

and the bike climate atm is going pretty pants D: you should have a quick gander on ebay, not many sports bikes under 2k now which is odd as like you said, there were loads just last year. i wouldnt mind if you posted some results here :P

Boys will be boys, I suppose!!

If I really wanted to argue for Moneysaving I'd say get the smallest engined, cheapest bike you can for your commute. But that would be silly, wouldn't it!?

    I have a 1991 ford fiesta.

    Its a pile of junk.

But it cost £100. Has lasted me 4 years so far and going strong.

I am saving for a new car, which will last me a lot longer.

You won't separate boys from noisy toys.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.

You could try saving up. Instead of paying interest then, you'd be making it. And you'd be a lot more careful spending your earned money.
