I'm an ex-pat living in the US and avidly read Martin's site every week - still have parents and monies in the UK. As much as I applaud, very loudly, Pedigree's giving to abandoned dogs, I have written to them on many occasions and never received a response, asking why they produce such diabolical food for dogs. Have you read the ingredient list on their bags of dog food. Ingredients are listed, as with human foods, in order of quantity contained within the food. As an example, take a look at their Lamb and Rice - the 1st ingredient is corn even though their website boasts that they don't use fillers. The 2nd ingredient is a by-product - this is produced from rendered 'parts' (look up what parts can be rendered if you really want to be disgusted). One of the next ingredients is an animal fat preservative - BHT/BHA - cancer causing preservatives. This goes on and on. Lamb is no. 8 on the list of ingredients!!!! Take a look at a website -.truthaboutpetfood by Susan Thixton. Add the www in the front and .com at the end as this site won't let me include a link. It's a real eye opener. Mars Petcare should be ashamed of themselves.

As a dog lover, I am very aware of this. I have 4 yellow gorgeous labradors and they eat a lot. And their food, is something I ma very particular with.
They are canine, and they should be eating real meat as on those processed, filler food that are on the market.
Like a parent, I choose what I feel will be best for my kids.

However, since this is a marketing campaign for the company too, and I have weighed the Pros' on helping other dogs have a better life (re Strays) then I will cooperate and find ways to have that 100,000 views.. Only for the stray dogs.

In the end, its your choice.
