[title=http://images2.moneysavingexpert.com/images/dp/wtd_underline.gif] What's this about?[/title]
Pedigree's launched the Adoption Drive campaign to raise awareness for abandoned & stray dogs in the UK. As part of the campaign, it's commited to donate £1 to the PetPlan Charitable Trust for every view of stray dog Charlie's video on youtube.
[title=http://images2.moneysavingexpert.com/images/dp/wtd_underline.gif] How to donate for free...
[/title]
To have £1 donated to the trust, simply go to the special youtube page and play the video. £1 will automatically be donated on your behalf, and Pedigree will donate up to £100,000. So far the video has had just over 50,000 views so it's half-way there.
[title=http://images2.moneysavingexpert.com/images/dp/wtd_underline.gif] Why's Pedigree doing this?[/title]
There are 1,000s of abandoned & stray dogs in the UK and charities like the PetPlan Charitable Trust need donations to take them in and care for them. Pedigree's decided to help encourage donations by viewer interaction.
[title=http://images2.moneysavingexpert.com/images/dp/wtd_underline.gif] When does it end?[/title]
Once the video has been viewed 100,000 times, Pedigree will have reached its target of £100,000 worth of donations. So 50,000 more to go!
[thanks]Thanks to MoneySaver Hamid for the top spot[/thanks]

Pedigree's launched a charity adoption campaign for abandoned dogs and as part of that campaign they're giving £1 for every view of this YouTube video (up to £100,000 worth):
www.youtube.com/wearefordogs
They're also giving 50p for every like of this Facebook page:
http://www.facebook.com/wearefordogs
It's easy, free and for a good cause!
The charity benefiting is the Petplan Charitable Trust (Registered Charity Number 1032907) whose website is here: http://www.petplantrust.org/index.php
Official MoneySavingExpert.com insert:
We've had confirmation from the press office that Pedigree will donate £1 for every view of this video. So far it has been viewed just under 15,000 times. Pedigree will donate up to £100,000 (so 100,000 views).

Hey guys - just a quick update - I've found out that if you want to donate as well you can do it directly through JustGiving - http://www.justgiving.com/everydogmatters. If you quote 'Daily Mail', Pedigree will match the donation -!http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1270220/As-pet-hour-LIZ-JONES-asks-What-s-going-wrong-animal-loving-Britain.html
Thanks for the updated info Deborah and good on you Lisa!0 -
Put it on my facebook page to encourage my friends to help the cause too0

Thanks Hamid for posting this. It's only had 17,000 views in two weeks! Not much for a nation of dog lovers as we supposedly are.Love the animals: God has given them the rudiments of thought and joy untroubled. Do not trouble their joy, don't harrass them, don't deprive them of their happiness.0

'Liked' on Facebook and suggest to all my friends. Following on Twitter.

Brilliant Hamid, thanks. I've checked the organisation's ethical policy too and, although they do fund medical research, they're totally clear that they'll never fund animal testing - which is more than some supposedly animal caring organisations can boast. So great stuff all round0

Just be aware that, AKAIK, liking a facebook page allows access to your personal info and this is a commercial venture (for Pedigree and Petplan insurance company) behind the well meaning front after all.I've checked the organisation's ethical policy too and, although they do fund medical research, they're totally clear that they'll never fund animal testing - which is more than some supposedly animal caring organisations can boast. I couldn't watch all of them as I started to cry, but I think that just shows you that I care about animals.
Just a few weeks a go I signed up to donate £2.50 a month to the cats protection which is £30 a year, I was thinking i'm not going to miss £2.50 a month.
I don't know if any one else is interested but here is a link to the site http://www.cats.org.uk/
Thanks.Don't forget you can donate 24 Felix tokens to help feed a cats protection cat/kitten that's in care
their are loads of cats/kittens awaiting there forever home
don't forget the the oldies who are just as much fun
Dropping a brand going great thanks Martin and team0 -
